Beiersdorf Opens NIVEA Haus in Berlin

April 01, 2009 Beiersdorf and Berlin’s Governing Mayor, Klaus Wowereit, today opened a NIVEA Haus on Berlin's "Unter den Linden" boulevard. This is the world's third NIVEA Haus following the opening of the houses in Hamburg and Dubai in 2006 and 2008 respectively. In line with the needs of its big-city customers, the NIVEA Haus in Berlin with its over 500 sqm of space provides time to relax and unwind with brief cosmetic applications that do not need to be booked in advance. The treatments last between ten and thirty minutes and include massages and styling sessions – such as a cafe massagio, which combines the pleasure of a cup of coffee with a massage. The NIVEA Haus in Berlin aims to further strengthen dialog with consumers in the direct brand environment. 23,000 readers of the magazine Reader's Digest named NIVEA their "Most Trusted Brand" for the ninth time in a row. In 2008, the NIVEA brand recorded a 10% rise in global growth year-on-year, again outperforming the market. "Our NIVEA Haus on Unter den Linden means that our brand world can be experienced both by the people of Berlin during their lunch break or at the weekend and by international tourists. As a global brand, NIVEA aims to be close to consumers and to be in tune with the times with its products and brand presentation," says Pieter Nota, the member of Beiersdorf AG's Executive Board responsible for brands, explaining the decision to open the NIVEA Haus in Berlin. The inauguration of the NIVEA Haus in the German capital underscores Beiersdorf's position as the country’s largest manufacturer of skin and beauty care products. The growth of strong brands such as NIVEA as well as Beiersdorf's other two major global brands Eucerin and La Prairie, has made Beiersdorf one of the world's leading cosmetics groups.
