OCME is proud to announce an important event dedicated to all the companies that aim to reduce costs, packaging materials and their impact on the environment. On February 14 and 15 an open house in the premises of OCME in Parma, Italy, will take place to show a revolutionary application dedicated to the packaging and palletising of beverages in display pallets.
It’s an integrated system that combine an Altair wraparound tray-packer with a Pegasus robot palletiser with complete layer gripper for the packaging of bottles, cans or multipacks in trays (1⁄2 pallet and 1⁄4 pallet) and subsequently palletise them onto euro pallets or demi palettes, without any other secondary packaging needed.
This application offer great benefits for the manufacturer, the distribution chain and the consumers in terms of savings in materials and lower energy consumption, maximum pallet space exploitation with consequent lower warehousing/ transport costs, better handling of the products in the point of sale and less waste to dispose of and optimizing of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
Key points of this system are reduction of cardboard (up to 23% per pallet), reduction of glue (up to 18% per pallet) and reduction of shrinking film for secondary packaging (up to 100%).
